The shade is light transmitting fabric stretched over a three dimensional cloud form, and the material choice is what makes the effect work. Fabric scatters light through its whole surface rather than at a single lens, so the fixture glows across its full volume and reads as an illuminated object instead of a shade with a bright spot inside it. The form is fully three dimensional rather than a flat profile, so it holds its shape from every angle in the room.
Output is a 2800 lumen 40W LED at 3000K warm white, which is a working light level rather than decoration only, covering 108 to 161 square feet. The bulb is included and sits on a standard E26 or E27 base, so it can be swapped for a smart bulb or a different colour temperature later without changing the fixture. Note that neither colour temperature nor brightness is adjustable at the fixture itself.
Seven sizes are offered, from 12 inches up to 35 inches wide, across five cloud styles, which lets the piece scale from a child's room to a stairwell or a commercial space. It is available as a one light or two light configuration, the 59.1 inch suspension line is adjustable for ceiling height, and it is hardwired at 110V with an IP20 indoor rating.
