Rialto Ribbed Glass Pillar Light Square Solar Outdoor Gate Post Fixture
- Ribbed glass softens glare on all four faces
- Stainless steel, rust proof in salt air
- Four step dimming with bulb included
Ribbed glass wraps all four faces of this fixture, and the ribs are doing optical work rather than decoration. Each vertical flute refracts the light as it leaves, breaking a flat glare panel into a column of soft vertical highlights. The result is a fixture that stays comfortable to look at directly, which matters on a gate post at roughly eye height where a plain clear lens would be harsh.
The body is stainless steel, painted and sanded, which is a more corrosion resistant base than the aluminum used in most landscape fixtures and holds up better in coastal or high salt air. Paired with a weather resistant glass shade, the fixture is rated for high temperature, rust and water exposure. The largest width weighs 17.64 pounds, which keeps it planted on an exposed pier without additional anchoring hardware.
Control and power are unusually flexible for an outdoor pillar light. It runs hardwired at 24W or on solar at 4W, and the LED offers four step dimming across 3000K, 4500K, 6000K and a red setting, operated by remote or wall switch. A bulb is included on an E27 base, and five widths from 9.8 to 23.6 inches let the fixture be scaled to the pier it caps rather than perched on top of it.
