The optic is the reason to choose this bollard over a plain post light. A 7W LED throws light through four separate beams rather than one downward cone, covering 54 to 108 square feet per fixture depending on height. On a path that means fewer fixtures to reach the same continuous coverage, and no dark gaps between pools of light where a walkway edge disappears.
The body is die cast aluminum with a glass shade, a combination that stays dimensionally stable outdoors. Aluminum does not rust, and casting the body in one piece leaves fewer seams for water to work into than a fabricated tube. An IP54 rating covers rain and airborne dust, so the fixture holds its shape and finish through long term exposure rather than bowing or corroding at the base where post lights usually fail first.
Four heights are available, from 11.8 inches up to 31.5 inches, which allows a stepped lighting scheme rather than a uniform row: low units at bed edges, taller units at path junctions and driveway entries. Output is 3000K warm white, a temperature that reads as comfortable and non glaring at eye level, and the fixture runs on a hardwired 85 to 265V supply controlled from an ordinary wall switch.
